Nicholas Bast is in his 5th year at Pennsylvania State University studying Architectural Engineering. Upon graduation in May 2018, Nick will graduate with an integrated Bachelor and Master degree in Architectural Engineering. While attending Penn State Nick became involved in many social and professional organizations. During his summer breaks, Nick participated in three professional experiences and one international experience in China.

After graduation, Nick has accepted a full time position as a Project Engineer with Southland Industries in Sterling, Virginia. Previously, Nick interned at Wohlsen Construction after his second and third year. During this time he was exposed to a project management position at a general contractor. These internship experiences exposed him to document control in the form of RFIs, drawing updates, and submittal approval. Additionally, Nick gained experience in managing subcontractor progress, scheduling, and site coordination.

In his free time Nick prefers to be outdoors and active. He was involved in Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon as a committee member for the past 2 years. To improve his professional skills and expose himself to more opportunities, Nick joined professional organizations such as Student Society of Architectural Engineering (SSAE), ASHRAE, and USGBC.
